Chambers Award For Excellence

If readers will allow a non-substantive note, I am pleased to be able to report that Dechert's Mass Torts & Products Liability Practice Group, of which I am the Co-Chair, was named the top product liability group in the nation by Chambers USA at an awards dinner in New York last week.

For twenty years, Chambers has published leading directories of the legal profession, based on the work of 100 full-time researchers who interview thousands of lawyers and their clients around the world. Chambers USA ranks the leading firms and lawyers in an extensive range of practice areas throughout America.

This is the second time Dechert has received the "Award for Excellence" for Product Liability. In announcing the 2010 Product Liability award, Chambers USA stated: "whether in advisory matters or the courtroom, Dechert is a force to be reckoned with in product liability matters."

In accepting the award on behalf of my entire team, I thanked the clients who have entrusted Dechert with some of their most challenging product liability matters over the years and thereby have given us an opportunity to excel on their behalf.

Dechert Receives Chambers USA Award for Excellence 2009 for Products Liability

If the faithful readers will permit me a non-substantive note:  I was pleased to learn that the product liability practice group here at Dechert, which I co-chair, has been selected as the recipient of the Chambers USA Award for Excellence 2009 for Products Liability. These awards "honor outstanding lawyers and law firms across the USA, reflecting both pre-eminence in key practice areas, and achievements over the last 12 months."

The other nominees, all fine firms, included A&P, Bartlit Beck, Kaye Scholer, Shook Hardy, Sidley, and Williams & Connolly.  Dechert has had the privilege of working with lawyers from several of these firms in the "virtual law firm" model in mass torts.

Certainly, this recognition reflects the hard work and talents of all the partners, counsel, associates, staff attorneys, and paralegals in our group.  It also stems from the confidence and trust placed in us by the clients who come to us for advice and assistance on many of their most challenging product liability and mass tort issues.

(Your humble blogger was again listed nationally among Product Liability lawyers, as well.)
